We are recruiting an Analyst to join our team at Underscore VC! Our analyst program is structured as a two-year apprenticeship model and is a great opportunity to gain exposure to key leadership at both startup and growth companies, as well as insight into our investment decision process. The Analyst will sit on the investment team and work closely with the firms Partners on potential new investments.

What does an “apprenticeship” model mean? 

You will work mostly with the Partners at the firm. Our intent behind the two-year rotational structure of this program is to enable participants to soak up as much as possible at Underscore, then empower you to navigate on to your next opportunity, either in or out of the portfolio and the startup scene. Past analysts have gone on to join other venture/investment firms, work at portfolio companies, and start their own companies.

What are we looking for in candidates? 

We are looking for people who share our enthusiasm for innovation and working with entrepreneurs from the earliest days. More than any particular background, we look for candidates who are intellectually curious, have strong analytical and communication skills, thrive off of new ideas and can push our thinking. Candidates should have demonstrated a high level of initiative in a prior activity and have at least 2 years of work experience.  We are hoping for candidates from a myriad of diverse backgrounds and professions.

How do you apply? 

You can apply below before March 15th! From the initial submissions, we’ll select a smaller group for phone/video interviews and then a set of finalists for in-person meetings. We currently expect the process to be finished by mid-April and candidates should be available to start work sometime between June and August.
