Join us for an engaging discussion with female innovation leaders and executives about their experience pivoting business strategy in a climate of change.

Speakers:

Amy VanHaren, Founder and CEO, Pumpspotting

Amy VanHaren is the CEO and founder of pumpspotting, a nourishing support system for new moms powered by technology. She has 20 years experience in digital and social media marketing, running VanHaren Creative, her marketing agency, and working at Patagonia Provisions, Amy’s Kitchen and Vistaprint. Amy faced deep isolation while trying to navigate working and breastfeeding and the experience drove her to build technology that makes it easier for women to nurse, pump, and thrive. Amy has pitched on a moving escalator on Apple’s reality TV show, traveled cross-country to meet thousands of mothers in her Breast Express RV, and taken up a position on the board of the Maine State Breastfeeding Coalition.

Beverly Hardy, Associate Director of Digital Business Development, Sanofi

As an Associate Director of Digital Business Development for Sanofi, Bev works to create strategic partnerships with external companies to enable Sanofi’s digital transformation. While opportunities range across technologies, therapeutic areas and functions within the life sciences value chain, Bev’s focus areas include China and Emerging Markets as well as Oncology.

A software product manager by training, Bev has a passion for bringing together people with diverse backgrounds and needs, and uniting them to create innovative solutions. Prior to Sanofi, she worked at the Brigham Digital Innovation Hub at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, supporting internal innovators’ ideas down the path toward commercialization, as well as “matchmaking” between hospital strategic challenges and market solutions. Previous roles included building practice management solutions for Federally Qualified Health Centers at athenahealth, e-commerce Web applications at Rue La La, and client social networking products for the Corporate Executive Board (now Gartner). She received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a secondary concentration in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard University

Jen Horonjeff, Founder and CEO, Savvy Cooperative

Jen Horonjeff, PhD, is the founder and CEO of Savvy Cooperative, the first and only patient-owned public benefit co-op that helps healthcare companies connect directly with diverse patients in order to get the insights they need to build better and more inclusive innovations. Jen was named one of the 50 Most Daring Entrepreneurs of 2018 by Entrepreneur Magazine, alongside the likes of Elon Musk, Chance the Rapper and Reese Witherspoon, for her application of the cooperative model. Savvy has additionally won seven awards, and has been featured in Fast Company and the Boston Globe. Jen grew up with juvenile idiopathic arthritis and survived a brain tumor as an adult. She is also a health outcomes researcher at Columbia University Medical Center, a human factors engineer, and an FDA Consumer Representative. Jen earned her Master’s in Ergonomics and Biomechanics and PhD in Environmental Medicine, both from New York University. Utilizing her unique perspective, Jen is a sought after thought leader on patient engagement around the globe. She strives to give patients a platform to have their voices and expertise be heard, included, and equitably valued–because the future of healthcare is co-designed with patients.
