How to Go from Beta to Unicorn in 6 Months

Monday, September 16, 2019 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

RSVP / Register

Building a company is hard enough, but going from beta to unicorn in 6 MONTHS? That’s almost unheard of.

During this Q&A, we’ll be chatting with Brex’s first employee, Larissa Rocha, on how they did it. And we’re positive you’ll find a few – if not a LOT – of nuggets of wisdom to take with you as you build your own company.

We’ll cover topics such as:

  • What the first 100 days of Brex looked like
  • Hiring the “dream team”
  • How they raised a total of $382.1M in funding
  • Mistakes they made and the lessons learned

And a lot more! If you’re serious about building your own company, then come join us for this insightful session and learn from this incredibly successful woman on how she and her team at Brex have accomplished so much in such a short time.

This event is a part of the Founders & C-Suite Track at Startup Boston Week 2019. And is perfect for companies in the Idea Stage, Early Stage, and Growth Stage.

Our Speaker:

Larissa Rocha, Employee #1, Brex

The first employee with Brex, Larissa has led the company through major milestones including the recruitment of an international team and development of customer relationships.

She has worn a lot of hats with Brex. She first started doing financial projections and other avenues of work before the company even had customers, before shifting into product and regulations, studying licenses and intensive studies of banks.

She then went into recruiting, mostly technical engineers, until Brex hired an official recruiter to find top talent. Upon making this hire, Larissa became the first full-time salesperson and trained the first two sales hires before moving onto customer support, growing the support team to six people.

Now, Larissa works in growth and marketing, developing various channels of marketing, partners, different touchpoints in order to spread Brex’s mission and meet their target audience.
