An Intro to Polkadot and Substrate
Thursday, February 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Join us for the first-ever Polkadot meetup in Boston!
This group and event will focus on the Polkadot blockchain and other technologies within the emerging ecosystem.
Polkadot is a global network of blockchains and the foundation for a new, peer-to-peer Internet. Founded in 2016 by Gavin Wood (former co-founder and CTO of Ethereum), Polkadot aims to build a completely decentralized web where users are in control.
The network’s software development toolkit, Substrate, makes it easy for blockchain developers to build their own custom, fit-for-use blockchains.
This will be an opportunity to meet the local community and learn about the upcoming Polkadot MainNet launch. Since this is the inaugural meetup, the format will be fairly relaxed.
6:00 Registration and networking
6:30 “Intro to Polkadot and Substrate” – Derek Yoo, CEO of PureStake

* A link where folks can find out more
A special thank you to the sponsors of the evening: PureStake, a blockchain infrastructure company focused on Polkadot and Algorand, and the Boston Blockchain Association, a community of innovators, collaborators, and entrepreneurs excited about the promise of blockchain technology.
